The Bloater Who Needed a Friend

This is Blaine. Blaine’s a nice dude. He was an unassuming guy, working a regular nine-to-five at an insurance company, and one day he caught a nasty fungal infection. And well, Blaine’s one of those hard-working guys who worked a little TOO hard, ignored his symptoms, and was completely oblivious when everyone else in the office evacuated due to a massive fungal outbreak that was causing people to go blind and EAT EACH OTHER. So he kept working and well, he kinda turned into this. Blaine’s now a bloater. He doesn’t know that he’s a bloater, but he’s a bloater.

None of the other critters wanted to hang out with him. But he’s a fun-guy! (see what I did there?) This made Blaine a sad bloater.

So now he’s running away from home to San Diego. Maybe someone will be his friend there? Maybe?

Blaine the Bloater is ready for SDCC! Find him there and he’s yours to keep! Y’all, this is easily the most unhinged thing I’ve ever made. Blaine also has a special feature:

HE SQUEAKS. I MADE A SQUEAKY BLOATER.

Last year I made a clicker from The Last of Us, and this year Blaine the bloater is the final critter in my 2024 SDCC critterdrop lineup! Find him at SDCC and he’s yours to keep! Rules and guidelines post coming soon! COMIC-CON IS NEXT WEEK OMG OMG!

If you’ve never followed my SDCC drops before, here’s what you need to know:

  1. Follow me on Instagram or twitter for updates on new critters!
  2. When the time comes, follow my tweets or my Instagram stories to track the drops, where I’ll post hints on where I’ve dropped them for a lucky finder!
  3. Follow the hashtag #CRITTERDROP to filter out my tweets if you want to see the ones pertaining to the drops only (this only applies to Twitter).
  4. If you find a critter, let me know that you found it! Please check in if you find a critter. Each one is tagged with a card with my contact info, I just ask for two things if you find one: 1) Send me a photo of your new friend, and 2) Let me know where the critter’s new home will be so I can add it to my map! I do this knowing that there’s a potential that anyone could swipe the critter and never get back to me on it, but it doesn’t make it any less disheartening when one goes missing.

Pick your social media poison and join the hunt!
