Stuff firmly with polyfil, continuing to stuff until the piece is closed.

Round 18: [Sc 1, dec 1] 6 times. {12}

Round 19: Dec 6. {6}

Close off the piece, then insert your yarn needle into center of the finishing ring and let it exit 1 round below the center hole. Pull up and reinsert your yarn needle between rounds 12 and 13, having the needle exit out through the same previous exit point. Pull tight to form some juicy butt cheeks! Repeat for one more pass to reinforce, pull tight, and tuck in the end.

Note: the photos below already have Gudetama’s limbs attached, it makes no difference if you attach the limbs before or after you make the butt!

Using black yarn or embroidery floss, sew on two eyes. Then using scissors, cut out a mouth from white felt. You may draw on an outline with black acrylic paint or use a black permanent marker.

Arms (make 2):

Round 1: Sc 4 in a magic ring. {4}

Round 2: Sc 4. {4}

R3: [Sc 1, sc 2 in one stitch] twice. {6}

Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Flatten the open ends and sew closed using a whipstitch. Sew the arms onto the body between rounds 8 and 9.

Note: You can make things up as you go along for round 8! It’s a random set of stitches to create an uneven edge for the egg white, no need to fret if you lose track or don’t follow it exactly!

Round 8: Sl st 1, sc 1, hdc 1, dc 5 in one stitch, hdc 1, sc 1, sl st 3, sc 1, hdc 3 in one stitch, sc 1, sl st 1, sc 1, hdc 1, dc 3 in one stitch, hdc 1, sc 1, sl st 4, sc 1, hdc 1, dc 4 in one stitch, hdc 2, sc 1, sl st 1, sc 1, hdc 1, dc 5 in one stitch, hdc 1, sc 1, sl st 1, sc 4 in one stitch, sl st 1, sc 2 in one stitch, hdc 3 in one stitch, sc 2, sl st.

You’re done! You can either simply lay Gudetama on top of the egg white, or use some small stitches with yarn to attach him to it! He’s ready to lay around and tell you how much you doesn’t want to do anything. 😀
