Unless otherwise noted, all crocheting is to be done in a continuous spiral.

Head:

Starting with burnt orange yarn:

Round 1: Sc 6 in a magic ring. {6}

Round 2: Inc 6 times. {12}

Round 3: [Sc 1, inc 1] 6 times. {18}

Round 4: [Sc 2, inc 1] 6 times. {24}

Round 5: Sc 3, change to white yarn and inc. Change back to burnt orange yarn and [sc 3, inc 1] 5 times. {30}

Rounds 6-7: Sc 2, change to white yarn. Sc 4, change to burnt orange yarn. Sc 24. {30}

Round 8: Sc 3, change to white yarn. Sc 2, change to burnt orange yarn. Sc 25. {30}

Round 9: [Sc 3, dec 1] 6 times. {24}

Round 10: Sc 24. {24}

Insert safety eyes approximately 7 stitches apart between rounds 6 and 7, placing one of the eyes in the center of the white spot.

Round 11: [Sc 2, dec 1] 6 times. {18}

Stuff head firmly with polyfil.

Round 12: [Sc 1, dec 1] 6 times. {12}

Fasten off and weave in the end.

Ears (make x2):

Using burnt orange yarn:

Round 1: Sc 5 in a magic ring. {5}

Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Sew one ear to each side of Bevo’s head.

Facial details:

Using cream felt, cut out a small oval to make Bevo’s snout. Using black embroidery floss, sew on two nostrils. Using a hot glue gun, glue the snout onto Bevo’s face. Using stiffened white felt, cut out two horns and glue one to each side of Bevo’s head, placing them behind the ears. (If you cannot find stiffened felt, you can also glue two pieces of normal felt together with a hot glue gun into a stack to provide structure, then cut out the horns from the glued stacked pieces of felt)

Body:

Starting with burnt orange yarn:

Round 1: Sc 6 in a magic ring. {6}

Round 2: Inc 6 times. {12}

Round 3: [Sc 1, inc 1] 6 times. {18}

Round 4: Sc 2, change to white yarn. Sc 1, change to burnt orange yarn. Sc 15. {18}

Round 5: Sc 2, change to white yarn. Sc 2, change to burnt orange yarn. Sc 14. {18}

Round 6: Sc 1, change to white yarn. Sc 4, change to burnt orange yarn. Sc 13. {18}

Round 7: Sc 2, change to white yarn. Sc 1, change to burnt orange yarn. Sc 1, dec 1. [Sc 4, dec 1] twice. {15}

Round 8: Sc 15. {15}

Stuff body firmly with polyfil.

Round 9: [Sc 3, dec 1] x3. {12}

Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Sew the head and body together using a whipstitch. The white spot on the body can go anywhere you like!

Forelegs (make x2):

Starting with cream yarn:

Round 1: Sc 5 in a magic ring. Change to burnt orange yarn in the last stitch. {5}

Rounds 2-7: Sc 5. {5}

Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Sew the forelegs to the front of Bevo’s body.

Hind legs (make x2):

Starting with cream yarn:

Round 1: Sc 5 in a magic ring. Change to burnt orange yarn in the last stitch {5}

Rounds 2-5: Sc 5. {5}

Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Sew one hind leg to each side of Bevo’s body, offset so that he can sit.
