Mushroom cap:

Using fern green yarn:

Round 1: Sc 6 in a magic ring. {6 stitches}

Round 2: Sc 2 in one stitch 6 times. {12 stitches}

Round 3: [Sc 1, sc 2 in one stitch] 6 times. {18 stitches}

Round 4: [Sc 2, sc 2 in one stitch] 6 times. {24 stitches}

Round 5: [Sc 3, sc 2 in one stitch] 6 times. {30 stitches}

Round 6: [Sc 4, sc 2 in one stitch] 6 times. {36 stitches}

Round 7: [Sc 5, sc 2 in one stitch] 6 times. {42 stitches}

Rounds 8-12: Sc 42. {42 stitches}

Round 13: [Sc 5, dec 1] 6 times. {36 stitches}

Round 14: [Sc 4, dec 1] 6 times. {30 stitches}

Round 15: [Sc 3, dec 1] 6 times. {24 stitches}

Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

BASE:

Using white yarn:

Round 1: Sc 6 in a magic ring. {6 stitches}

Round 2: Sc 2 in one stitch 6 times. {12 stitches}

Round 3: [Sc1, sc 2 in one stitch] 6 times. {18 stitches}

Round 4: [Sc 2, sc 2 in one stitch] 6 times. {24 stitches}

Rounds 5-9: Sc 24. {24 stitches}

Fasten off and tuck in the end.

SPOTS (make 5):

Using white yarn:

Round 1: Sc 6 in a magic ring. {6 stitches}

Round 2: Sc 2 in one stitch 6 times. {12 stitches}

Round 3: [Sc 1, sc 2 in one stitch] 6 times. {18 stitches}

Round 4: [Sc 2, sc 2 in one stitch] 6 times. {24 stitches}

Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing on each spot. Sew to the cap, placing one directly on the top of the cap and spacing the remaining four evenly around the sides.

Firmly stuff the cap and base with polyfil and sew the two parts together using a whipstitch, and tuck in the end.

Using black yarn, sew two eyes onto the base. Then using white embroidery floss, sew on glints to each eye.
