Happy Mario Day, everyone! Fun fact: it took me WAY too long to realize why March 10th is Mario Day. Because it’s MAR10. Look, better late than never, amirite?
ANYWAY, someone once rudely told me “GET A LIFE!” So I did.

Sprouting up from the Mushroom Kingdom, these 1-Up mushrooms are foraged by punching question blocks for some reason. Look, I’m not here to get into the details of the mycology of fictional video game worlds, but what I AM here to say is that I’m bringing one of these little 1-Up mushrooms with me to SDCC this year! Find it and it’s yours to keep, no punching required!

And if you don’t find it at SDCC, I’ve got a FREE pattern for you to make one of your own! And of course you can change the colors to make it a power up mushroom if you need an extra boost!

I’ve also got a secret running theme among my critters that I’ll be dropping this year. See if you can figure it out! So far I’ve got a little Superman and Krypto and this 1-Up Mushroom following the theme. Little Eleven on the other hand does NOT fit the theme, as I came up with the theme after I had already announced that I’m bringing her with me to SDCC. That’s a hint in itself! Find any of these little critters at SDCC and they’re yours to keep!
If you’ve never followed my SDCC drops before, here’s what you need to know:
- Follow me on Instagram, Threads, or Twitter for updates on new critters!
- When the time comes, follow my clues posted to social media (specific platform tbd when the time comes closer to SDCC) to track the drops, where I’ll post hints on where I’ve left them for a lucky finder!
- If you find a critter, let me know that you found it! Please check in if you find a critter. Each one is tagged with a card with my contact info, I just ask for two things if you find one: 1) Send me a photo of your new friend, and 2) Let me know where the critter’s new home will be so I can add it to my map! I do this knowing that there’s a potential that anyone could swipe the critter and never get back to me on it, but it doesn’t make it any less disheartening when one goes missing.

No specific hints on where these little guys will be dropped, and I’ll drop them whenever the time and place feels right! Find one and it’s yours to keep! Happy hunting!
Pick your social media poison and join the hunt!
