Sometimes someone gives me a fun idea that I can’t refuse. A friend asked me if I could make an MF DOOM last year, and I finally made it happen!
I lived my teenage years through the rise of hip-hop and rap as we know it, but I’d only heard some MF DOOM here and there and never gave his work a proper listen while he was still with us. Needless to say, my friend asking for a mini DOOM was a great excuse for me to make something fun and new, and to take a long overdue dive into the music while I was at it! Nice way to have a built-in soundtrack to my crafting.
The other upside is that making little MF DOOM was a good start for giving me ideas of how I might make a little Dr. Doom in the future depending on how the next phase of Marvel movies turn out! It’ll be exciting seeing Robert Downey Jr. come back to the MCU as Dr. Doom, but there’s plenty of time to wait before we see it all play out. In the meantime I’m here making tiny little masks for tiny little hip-hop legends.
RIP to a legend. I was late to the game, but I’m having a great time honoring the legacy.
