How about a throwback post? Back in 2021 Squid Game was all the rage. It was an interesting time for TV and movies between COVID production restrictions, so it’s no surprise that it became a huge hit when American TV was in a slump. Dalgona candy was everywhere, people were buying teal jumpsuits for Halloween, and red light, green light memes were all over social media.
So I made a little Player 067 (my favorite from season 1) and a little soldier! I was also bored and was playing around with home bartending at the time, so I paired them with a cocktail. It was a boozy bourbon milk punch with a dalgona candy garnish!
These two little critters were later dropped at SDCC 2022 and both found happy homes!
Two years later I’d make a little Red Light, Green Light doll (complete with rotating head!) to drop on a trip to Korea.
And the little Red Light, Green Light doll found a happy new home in Seoul!
So now we’re here with the release of season 2 of Squid Game. To be honest, I’m not sure what direction they’ll take after season 1 since it felt like a contained plot in itself, but I’ll still be giving it a chance to see how it plays out. Looks like it’s shaping up to be a mass-scale revenge plot, so we’ll see how it goes. Let the games begin!
