IT’S CRUNCH TIME. San Diego Comic-Con is coming up in two weeks and I’m in a mad dash to squeeze out a few more critters before the big show! Avengers: Endgame was such a huge part of the comic book movie landscape this year that it would’ve felt wrong to exclude some characters from my adoption lineup this year. So here I present not one, not two, but three little Avengers that I’ll be bringing out with me:

Captain America has been a staple in my SDCC critter drop lineup for several years now, and 2019 will be no exception.

Iron Man has made a few appearances before too, but with the way things panned out for Tony Stark in Endgame I knew I had to include a little Iron Man for this year’s lineup.

“I love you 3000.” AUGH OK GONNA GO CRY NOW.
But there’s one “classic” Avenger that I’ve somehow never made in all my years of crocheting these little guys. Thor has been left out for far too long. I’ve made his sister Hela before, but somehow I never made the god of thunder himself. And the one time I decide to do it he comes out looking uh…a little different.

Wassup.

STOP. Hammer time!
Oh, Fat Thor. I loved it. I kept waiting for that fan service moment where there’d be a montage of him losing all the weight and showing up ripped and shirtless all over again, BUT THAT MOMENT NEVER CAME and it cracked me up so much. Fat Thor stayed fat. Lebowski-Thor made me so freaking happy.

Handmade Mjölnir!

Belly comparison next to a decidedly svelte Iron Man. The belly isn’t quite so obvious from a frontal view, but the chub is definitely there.

And with that, that’s three additions to my SDCC 2019 adoption lineup! Find these little guys at SDCC and they’re yours to keep! THE HUNT BEGINS SOON. So, so soon!
If you want to join my hunt for crocheted critters at San Diego Comic-Con this year, follow me on either twitter or facebook to track my drops! I just ask for two things if you find a critter: 1) Send me a photo of your new friend! 2) Let me know where the little buddy’s new home will be! Good luck, and happy hunting!

Hahaha I absolutely love your fat Thor! And I think the hammer looks so nice – what material did you make it from?
Modeling clay and a toothpick!
Maybe this will be the year we finally get a Geeky Hooker find!!
That Thor is perfection.
OMG how did you make that Mjölnir it’s beautiful!!
Thank you! It was made from some modeling clay and a toothpick!
