Like the rest of the internet, I had my heart broken last month by a little blubbering green guy in an apron. That video of Tiny Chef getting the call that his show was canceled rang out across the world, and people showed up in droves to support a tiny green puppet. I’ll admit that I didn’t know Tiny Chef had a show on Nickelodeon, but I’d seen heartwarming clips of this little guy floating around on social media for years. With the whimsical set design, satisfying color palettes, and charming stop-motion animation, everything about Tiny Chef is a recipe (pun intended) for winning over the hearts of people everywhere. So when I saw the infamous cancellation video and learned there’d be a Tiny Chef panel at SDCC this year, some folks asked if I’d be making a Tiny Chef. I didn’t think I’d have time. But the more I thought about it, it just seemed too fitting for the kind of thing I do. So I found myself in a mad dash to crank out a last-minute critter to drop next week.
I’m so pleased with how he turned out! I’ve never seen an episode of Tiny Chef in my life, but I still felt the need to make one because just look at this dude. Nickelodeon, how could you let this little guy go?
Find Tiny Chef at SDCC and he’s yours to keep! Make lots of tasty plant-based goodies with him! He’s the final critter in my SDCC 2025 adoption lineup, giving me a total of 11 critters, plus 3 guest critters by Gina! Final roundup post and rules and guidelines to come!
If you’ve never followed my SDCC drops before, here’s what you need to know:
- Follow me on Instagram, Threads, or Twitter for updates on new critters!
- When the time comes, follow my Instagram/Threads posts or tweets to track the drops, where I’ll post hints on where I’ve left them for a lucky finder!
- Set up a mobile alert on your phone! This isn’t required, but it’ll help! This way your phone will notify you every time I make a post, so you won’t miss a single drop! Instructions on how to set this up can be found here for Instagram, here for Threads, and here for Twitter.
- If you find a critter, let me know that you found it! Please check in if you find a critter. Each one is tagged with a card with my contact info, I just ask for two things if you find one: 1) Send me a photo of your new friend, and 2) Let me know where the critter’s new home will be so I can add it to my map! I do this knowing that there’s a potential that anyone could swipe the critter and never get back to me on it, but it doesn’t make it any less disheartening when one goes missing.
No specific hints on where these little guys will be dropped, and I’ll drop them whenever the time and place feels right! Find one and it’s yours to keep! Happy hunting!
