“Be curious, not judgmental.” Wise words from everyone’s favorite fish-out-of-water TV soccer coach. I completely blew through the first two seasons of Ted Lasso when it first came out, and was immediately taken in by how one show could be so funny, heart-warming, and still deliver some gut-wrenching truth bombs (and produce the best Rick Roll I’ve ever seen). I was even more impressed when I found out that it was based on the Premiere League ads on NBC sports that had aired ages ago, where they managed to turn a one-time gag into an award-winning TV show. It’s like Ted’s fictional underdog story manifested itself into real life!
Also some news for any Londoners out there! Critters are coming to London! For the uninitiated, since 2011 I’ve been crocheting little characters from pop culture and leaving them behind for strangers to find by posting clues on social media. I’ll be visiting the old foggy city later this month, find this wee lil’ Coach Lasso around London from 3/23-3/26 and he’s yours to keep! I’ll be bringing more little buddies with me, so stay tuned to see who else you might be able to snag in ol’ London Town while I’m visiting!
If you’ve never followed my drops before, here’s what you need to know:
- Follow me on Instagram or Threads. Clues will be posted to both platforms.
- Set up a mobile alert on your phone! This isn’t required, but it’ll help! This way your phone will notify you every time I make a post, so you won’t miss a single drop! Instructions on how to set this up can be found here for Instagram and here for Threads.
- One critter will be dropped each day.
- Critters can be dropped indoors or outdoors, and will be in areas that are legally accessible. They will mostly be left in plain sight (ex. you shouldn’t have to dig through anything or open containers that shouldn’t be opened)
- If you find a critter, let me know that you found it! Please check in if you find a critter! Each one is tagged with a card with my contact info, I just ask for two things if you find one: 1) Send me a photo of your new friend, and 2) Let me know where the critter’s new home will be so I can add it to my map! I do this knowing that there’s a potential that anyone could swipe the critter and never get back to me, but it doesn’t make it any less disheartening when one goes missing.
No specific hints on where these little guys will be dropped, and I’ll drop them whenever the time and place feels right! Find one and it’s yours to keep! Happy hunting!
