I’m Cindy, I live in Houston, TX, and since 2011 I’ve been crocheting little characters and leaving them behind for strangers to find by leaving photo clues on social media. I’m a healthcare professional by day, crochet ninja by night. I hope you’ll like it here!
I love visiting indie bookstores and quirky museums, and I love to travel and eat. My favorite city in North America is Vancouver, Canada, and globally some of my favorite places I’ve visited are Iceland, Japan, and the Azores Islands. I looooove noodle soups of any kind. Ramen, pho, beef noodle soup, I’ll happily slurp them all. Food-wise I’ll try just about anything once. I won’t necessarily like it, but I’ll try it. Unless it has raisins in it. Raisins only add sad, dehydrated misery to any dish they come into contact with. I get angry enough at raisins that when I see a contestant on the Great British Bake Off use raisins in a bake, I end up hoping Paul Hollywood will reaffirm my dislike for raisins.
I spent a few years doing food photography for some local bars and restaurants, and also had a brief stint as a food writer for a local food publication. I once wrote an article where I tried a bunch of different pumpkin spice-flavored junk, and it went just as horribly as you think it would.
I’m terribly clumsy, so I tell people not to put me in rooms full of nice things. Maybe that’s why crocheting is an appropriate hobby for me, eh? Minimal risk for breaking fluffy yarn skeins or injuring myself with big equipment. (although I’ve wanted to pick up on woodworking!)
I love dad jokes and have been known to torment my friends and co-workers with them. That’s the beauty of dad jokes, if people like them you win, if they hate them you still win!
